The Xfinity series is currently racing at Mid-Ohio in the rain.

The race is almost over, that is all I know. I just got home and turned the TV on the race was on and it’s raining. I am DVR’ing it, so I changed the channel real quick.

It is on the USA network.

These cars are hideous, especially that Mustang (which is the furthest thing from a Mustang you can get. I love how they actually write the car’s name on it, in a vein attempt to forge some marketable link where there is none at all.

Reminds me of that dodgy Romeo and Juliet remake where they use guns with “Sword” written on them

I always liked the Challenger because it almost looked like the real thing.

I wish NASCAR would let the cars look how they come from the factory.

IMO the old cars look awesome compared to the amorphous blobs they race now.

I agree. Same deal with our V8 Supercars. It makes things safer and cheaper, but less exciting and less marketable. Mixed bag.

I try to catch V8 supercars from time to time, it’s always good racing. The supercars at least seem to keep some of their original looks and doors, in NASCAR that is basically gone.

It’s kind of hard to suspend reality enough to look at cars that were originally four doors and see the front windows extended enough for the drivers to climb in and out through them.
